Large amounts of red meat have always been strongly forbidden for people who have a risk of heart disease. But doctors never said how much meat is considered to be too much.

Recent researches show that you don’t have to cut out red meat from your diet. Having red meat once a day is quite okay, and be sure this reduces risk of suffering from a heart disease. If you replace red meat with other products rich for proteins (nuts, low aft kinds of meat), this will reduce risk of having heart disease even faster.

Women who eat red meat twice a day have 30% increased risk of having a heart disease comparing to women who eat red meat 3-4 times a week. That’s a “pretty dramatic increase,” says the lead researcher, Dr. Adam Bernstein. Adam says he expects results among men to be the same.

The director of women and heart disease at Lenox Hill Hospital in NY says: “This (research) gives you an understanding of what moderation means. It gives you something to grab on to”.

About 85,000 of women took part in the experiment. The results proved that replacing red meat with healthier sources of protein really helps to reduce the risk of a heart disease. Plus, regular exercising in combination with a diet will lead to stronger and faster results.

If you replace daily serving of red meat with nuts (30%), poultry (19%), low fat dairy (13%), you will reduce risk of heart disease.

“We know that red meat is not as good as other protein sources,” says Karen Congro, a registered dietitian at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, in New York City.

“Now we actually have the numbers to put next to them.”

It doesn’t mean red meat is awful, it just means that those who eat it often should reduce the amount of this product in their diet.

Some titles for articles are intended to catch your attention and this is no exception. This is one of those times when you need to think carefully before you act. There’s a tendency to think medication will solve all your problems. Indeed, that’s what the marketers are relying on. They link the brand name to a disease and you are programed to remember the drug if you have the disease. You walk in to see your doctor and ask for a prescription, or you buy the drug online and await the cure with confidence. But this only works if your diagnosis of the disease is correct or if the symptoms are being caused by a relevant problem. Since we’re talking about erectile dysfunction, it can be a side effect of some of the drugs you are taking. If that’s the case, taking one of the three erectile dysfunction drugs is not going to help. You need to reduce the dosage in the other drug or change to a different drug. This may cause the erectile dysfunction to disappear without having to do more. If it does not, it’s possible the lower dose is still too high or the second drug is causing the same problem. This is something that needs to be managed by an experienced doctor. If you try experimenting with the drugs you are taking, this can produce some very unfortunate results.

So there’s no single cause for erectile dysfunction and it’s unwise of you to try guessing what the problem might be. Why might this be a problem? If you are older, i.e. over 50, dysfunction slowly grows more common simply by virtue of the aging process. The older you are, the more likely it is, but the narrower the range of possible causes. If the dysfunction affects you as a younger man, there’s one very serious possibility to explore. The artery leading into the penis must dilate properly if an erection is to form. If you are developing artherosclerosis, this is the smallest artery in the body and so the first one likely to show signs of a hardening of the wall of the blood vessel. Should there be a build up of plaque preventing proper dilation, this is not going to be restricted to one blood vessel. It’s going to affect all parts of the body including the blood vessels leading into and out of the heart.

The statistics show that the younger you are when the dysfunction first shows, the higher the risk of a stroke or heart attack within five years. Yet, the preventative treatment is both cheap and effective. So, if you have the cardiovascular tests and diagnose artherosclerosis early, you have receive the treatment to give you a long and healthy life. Should the dysfunction persist, Cialis is available to restore an active sex life. Why should younger men take this warning seriously? The answer comes in the rising number of young people who are seriously overweight. One of the main causes of this epidemic of obesity is the amount of carbohydrates in our diet. Indeed, the higher the fat content in our food, the more likely it is you will develop artherosclerosis. So, if you cannot control your diet, the first sign of possible trouble will be erectile dysfunction (and then you should go and buy your cialis).

We spend an enormous amount of food each year to keep us looking young and fresh and some estimates put the figure at around billion. It is widely believed that the food that you consume rather than the creams and lotions you use on your skin is the best defense against skin aging.

Along with foods, water is also widely understood to provide significant skin enhancing properties. Water not only ensures your body dispels harmful toxins which can cause premature ageing, but it also provides the body with the transport mechanism required to transfer all the necessary anti-ageing nutrients within foods contained in your stomach, to your skin. Not only that but it also hydrates your skin helping your body to plump out wrinkles far better than any cream or lotion can achieve. As a guide, you should aim to drink at least one glass of water for every stone you weigh.

Here is a list of 5 super foods foods to ensure you keep your skin young looking and in tiptop condition;

1. Oranges
These are full of vitamins C which is one of optimal nutrients required by the body to help repair damaged and worn skin tissue. They are in addition one of the most filling foods available which as a consequence, can help reduce weight gain.

2. Watermelon
The flesh and seeds of watermelons are extremely nutritious therefore mixing both the flash and seeds together in a food blender and drinking the juice is very beneficial. Vitamins A and C which are both essential for healthy and radiant skin are contained within the flesh. Essential fats, zink, and vitamins E are contained within the seeds which all help against the free radical damage that results in premature ageing and in some cases, heart disease.

3. Tomatoes
Cooked tomatoes are a rich source of lycopene providing protection against number of age-related cancers and also helping to shield the eyes against damage from overexposure to the sun’s harmful rays.

4. Avocados
Not only are they a superb source of vitamin E and mono saturated fats, the ingredients within the pulp of avocados have been shown to trigger your DNA to manufacture more embryonal collagen which helps to promote wrinkle free and smooth skin.

5. Yoghurt
Rich in calcium, helping to strengthen our bones and ward off osteoporosis, yoghurt also contains friendly bacteria which additionally helps maintain a healthy digestive system and thus reducing the occurrences of age-related stomach illnesses.

Most people can’t function without a hot cup of coffee as their morning pick me up. Unfairly, coffee has been tied to unhealthy habits like smoking and sitting in cafe’s discussing politics.

Recently scientists have been putting coffee under the metaphorical and literal microscope to see what effect coffee drinking has on health. Surprisingly, they’ve found that not only is coffee drinking safe, it may ward off Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

In fact, a JAMA study found that those that gulp at least six cups of Joe per day were 22 percent less likely to have diabetes compared to those that don’t drink coffee.

Scientists think that coffee works by:

Regulating Hormones: They don’t get a lot of press, but your hormones are a critical part of Type 2 diabetes development… and that doesn’t only include insulin. UCLA researchers have found that a protein in the body called SHBG is low in people with Type 2 diabetes. However, drinking coffee increases SHBG levels, starting a hormone cascade that can help even out hormones like testosterone that have gone out of whack.

Caffeine: Coffee surely isn’t popular because of its nasty, bitter taste… it’s the caffeine! In addition to getting you up and out the door in the morning, caffeine has a number of potential health benefits. Firstly, because it stimulates the central nervous system, caffeine moderately boosts metabolism. Studies also suggest that caffeine opens up your cell’s insulin receptors, making the insulin your body makes work better.

Magnesium: Coffee is loaded with the essential mineral magnesium. Magnesium is an essential part of carbohydrate metabolism. Without enough magnesium, your body isn’t able to process carbohydrates effectively. This may cause a “back-up” of carbs waiting to be processed, resulting in elevated sugar levels.

Antioxidants: Your morning Starbucks may not be as antioxidant rich as a handful of blueberries, but that doesn’t mean that coffee is some sort of antioxidant slouch. Antioxidants are special molecules found only in food that act as bodyguards for your body’s cells. If your body is lacking antioxidants, cells are left vulnerable like a quarterback without and offensive line.

Cellular damage significantly increases inflammation, a surefire risk factor for Type 2 diabetes. Coffee is bursting with a unique antioxidant known as Trigonelline. A study published in Diabetes Care found that Trigonelline had a special beneficial effect on blood sugar levels.

To keep coffee a healthy choice, avoid adding milk, cream or sugar. Instead, flavor your coffee with fat-free milk, cinnamon or natural vanilla.

Cholesterol is an element that plays a vital role in the human body, enabling it to run smoothly. But, when we eat too many cholesterol-rich foods, it may negatively affect our health, by building up along the artery walls, increasing the risk for heart attack and stroke. There are many different ways to address high cholesterol levels, both as a preventative measure and as a remedy. There are a wide variety of pharmaceutical medications available, but increasingly, individuals have started successfully using holistic supplements, such as Plant Sterols, to address cholesterol related issues.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Watch this Doctor’s Free Presentation on How to Naturally and Safely Reverse Heart Disease and Lower Cholesterol. Click Here or Visit http://HealthTipsThatWork.com/Cholesterol

However, there are also other adjuncts available to enable people to manage high cholesterol levels.

CardioCheck is a device which was created to assist individuals in keeping track of their cholesterol levels. This may be a really great way to manage cholesterol levels, in order to see if whatever method you choose to use is working.

CardioChek was created to test a person’s whole blood from a small drop of blood acquired from a fingerstick, and to be an alternative to the BioScanner. It analyzes an individual’s blood and measures various blood components from a very small sample size. This device is made up of three parts – a Memo Chip, the analyzer and test strips.

The real question is: how does the CardioChek work? The answer is actually quite simple – when the blood sample is applied to the test strip, a chemical reaction takes place, which manifests in a color change.

This process is known as “reflectance photometry”; the analyzer and the Memo Chip work together to gauge the color reaction and evaluate the information stored in the MEMo Chip. The results are then displayed on the screen in a way an individual may easily understand.

Hardening and narrowing of the arteries is a result of uncontrolled diabetes. Strokes and coronary heart disease are common among diabetics. Approximately 17 million Americans are diabetics.

The first thing you need to do is find yourself a good internal medicine physician in general practice. You will not survive if you try to treat yourself. This physician can tell you in quite exact terms what your condition is and work out a treatment and diabetic diet plan, not one that will cure your disease, but one that will control it and keep you alive with the least possible damage to your system.

This disease requires a lot of self-management, and that means that you need to educate yourself and take charge. No one else can make the changes in lifestyle that will determine whether you will come down with all or any of the adverse effects. Only you can do that.

Those changes include daily monitoring of your blood-sugar levels with a meter, lancets, and diabetic testing strips. You will also need to keep a log of your readings.

The second change will be dietary in nature. It’s probably true that if you have diabetes, your diet is not keeping you in very good shape. This will be one of the hardest changes to make, but is also the key to surviving diabetes. You need to read a lot about the relationship between diet and blood sugar.

Recent surveys have determined that Americans are now the top consumers of processed meats such as hot dogs, bologna, sausage , ham, etc. that they have made part of their daily diets. This is not good news by any means as it is a proven fact that consumption of these meats can lead to ailments and disorders which include cancer, heart disease and diabetes.

Processed meats contain very large amounts of sodium so the first risk that you are exposing yourself to is that of heart disease. When the sodium level is increased in your body it can lead to high blood pressure and can affect the ability of your blood to clot properly and this can lead to heart problems.

Sodium nitrate is the main ingredient that is used in processed meat and this is what gives the meat the red color.

There have been numerous studies conducted and it has been determined that people who consume large amounts of this through consuming processed meats are more at risk for developing pancreatic cancer and leukemia as well as stomach and colon cancer along with other ailments. When you consume these foods on a consistent basis, you are increasing your odds for contracting these diseases during your lifetime.

Another downside to eating processed meats are that they can lead to obesity as they contain lots of calories and fats that are used in their processing. These foods are the ones which are smoked, salted, cured, or have had chemicals preservatives added to them to make them last longer. Examples of these include salami, bacon, bologna and hot dogs to name a few. Obesity is one of the biggest problems that Americans are facing today and these foods are a large part of the problem.

We now know that there are many ingredients that are contained in the processed meats that increase our risks for developing heart disease and diabetes, but why is this true? There have been studies conducted through research and it has been determined that the fat and cholesterol that is found in processed meats is responsible for the increased risk factors for these diseases.

I know that most of us are very familiar with cholesterol levels in the body and how they can put us at risk for heart disease and other disorders.

These are some of the risks that are involved in eating processed meats in large amounts. That is not to say that you cannot eat them once a week or so, but when you start to eat them on a consistent basis, then you are putting your body and health at risk. You will be much better off to eat a well balanced diet that consists of lots of fresh fruits and vegetables that will help to keep your body energized and healthy for years to come.

There’s always quite a big slice of the population that’s down. For them, the world revolves through shades of grey into black and back again, and there’s nothing worse than meeting happy people to make them feel really bad. Somehow all the bitterness and resentment comes to the surface. It’s a Scrooge, “Bah, humbug!” day everyday, including Christmas, if the crowd around them is bouncing around being all joyful. Perhaps it’s a fear the happiness might somehow be infectious. They want to drive all these jolly people away unless, in a moment of weakness, they find a little joy creeps up and bites them on whichever part of the anatomy might be exposed. But, for whatever reason, unhappy people resist happiness with a real enthusiasm. Sadly, the increasing body of medical evidence is that this is shortening their lives.

Let’s start with the European Heart Journal which, this month, is carrying an article suggesting that people who find peace and joy, if not excitement, in their lives are less likely to suffer from heart disease. This is not to say everyone should walk around in a state of pure contentment all the time. Everyone is entitled to periods when they feel angry, anxious or depressed. It’s a balance between dark and light. It seems the people who feel positive about themselves for longer, live longer. While those who lapse into longer lasting anxiety and depressive states are more likely to suffer heart attacks. This builds on an increasing body of research findings that happy people have stronger immune systems, lower blood pressure and are less likely to contract diabetes. Just as important, people with a positive outlook are more likely to enjoy good sleep, only drink moderate amounts of alcohol and are better able to quit smoking. But, as with all science, there is a need for more research. The immediate article comes out of a ten-year study involving 1,740 participants. This is on the borderline of statistical significance. There should more more studies involving larger numbers of people to tease out all the complex strands that contribute to longer or shorter life expectancy.

For those of you interested in this issue, you will find it useful to look at http://www.springerlink.com/content/0474658172222350/fulltext.pdf. The most interesting studies involve groups of nuns who live 7 to 10 years longer than average. They live “stress-free” quite unlike the modern secular majority whose lives are blighted by worry and anxiety. As it stands, the medical profession prefers to deal with simple remedies. To keep health insurance costs to a minimum, physicians write out a prescription for xanax while signalling for the next patient to enter. Dealing with abstract notions of happiness is not in the program for time-crunched doctors. This is unfortunate because, although there is no evidence that happiness cures serious illness, it can always make the experience of illness more bearable. This does not deny that if you buy anti-anxiety drugs like xanax online, you will not find anxiety levels reduce. But there is a difference between an absence of anxiety and a positive attitude to life. The evidence is mounting that happiness improves longevity. So, if you want to avoid an early death, start looking for a little joy. You never know. It may just creep up on you and bite you when you are least expecting it. That bite could add years to your life.

You’re home from work and have the house to yourself. You’ve been very disciplined during the day. Just plenty of water to drink and a few biscuits. The scales show those pounds yielding to the diet. And then you find yourself opening the kitchen door. There’s a tub of icecream in the freezer that’s got your name on it. When that’s gone, there’s that piece of cheesecake and a peanut butter sandwich or two to round things off. By the time you’ve finished, the good work of the day has been undone with an intake of calories sufficient to keep a small army going for a week. But, and here comes the sad truth, you have to support being overweight with your lifestyle. If you have a little self-discipline, there’s no reason to carry all that extra weight around. It’s the boom and bust approach to dieting that does the most harm, with binge eating one of the most common of the eating disorders. Why do we do it?

Binge eating is evidence of emotional problems. It says something fundamental about how we see ourselves, how much we really care about our bodies. In these modern times, everyone knows how dangerous it is to be overweight, let alone obese. Every article like this everywhere on the web tells the same story of the risks of diabetes, cancers and heart disease. So to take the decision not to lose weight is making a statement about our lives. Put the other way round – if we cared about the risks, we would find the motivation to diet. Defeatism means giving up. We believe we are beaten. Sometimes, it’s like there’s no point in even trying even if we are literally shortening our lives.

Of course, there are therapies and treatments for all the eating disorders but, without coverage under a health plan, this is an expensive exercise. For most people, it comes down to self-help. So you need to untangle the cause and effect. Answer this simple question: what triggers a binge? If there’s a consistent reason for suddenly wanting to empty your fridge, this gives you a starting point. You might find it useful to keep a diary. It’s easier to see a pattern when you read back through a month or so of entries. Then you have to confront those situations and devise a way of getting through them without the need to eat. Recognize this desire for food has nothing to do with physical hunger. If that was the case, using a drug like meridia would be the answer, suppressing your appetite.

You have to break the habit of eating as a response to your emotions. Be your own therapist. Apply common sense and approach the exercise with an open mind. With honesty, you should overcome the problem. Of course, a sensible diet will help. Eating a good breakfast sets you up for the day. Avoid snacking and keep to regular times for lunch and an evening meal. If hunger does become a problem, you can buy meridia and it will see you through difficult times until your stomach gets used to smaller quantities of food. The aim should be to improve the general quality of your life. You will not become happy overnight, but at least aim for a more positive outlook.

Blood pressure is one of the major causative factors of a lot of health problems, most them being heart related ailments. Blood pressure is also responsible for causing life threatening conditions.

People suffering from diabetes should be extra careful about their blood pressure levels. Diabetes has many negative effects on the cardiovascular system of the body. If a diabetic patient also suffers from high blood pressure, it adds to the stress on the heart and other blood vessels like arteries and veins in the body. It has been medically proven that people who are suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure at the same time are at higher risk of suffering from a stroke or a heart attack. So along with measuring sugar levels, blood pressure monitors can help you check your pressure levels.

Another health related problem caused by blood pressure is hypertensive heart disease. Any person is said to be in hypertensive condition if the heart experiences overexertion. Hypertensive heart disease is a leading cause of deaths due to heart attack and this disease is directly linked to high blood pressure. Because of high blood pressure, the blood vessels constrict and flow of the blood is restricted. As a result, the heart tries to pump more blood and hence experiences pressure. Along with the side effect of stiffening of the blood vessels, high blood pressure can also make the heart muscles thick. If proper treatment and care is not taken, it can prove to be life threatening.

Chronic high blood pressure can damage the kidneys of a person too. As high blood pressure damages the blood vessels, there are high chances that it can affect the small capillaries in the kidney nephron. Nephrons perform the function of clearing out waste from the blood and also help in maintaining the fluid volume. High blood pressure can cause a permanent damage on these organs and hence cause the kidneys to functions to disrupt. In the long run, if the blood pressure is left untreated, it keeps causing harm to the kidneys and ultimately the kidneys are not able to function.

As we can now conclude that, high blood pressure is one such medical condition that does not have any back ground but can easily become the reason of disease that involve other peoples life.
