16 MayPropecia keeps your hair thick and plentiful

When you are young, it’s easy to walk around as if nothing can ever go wrong in your life. Although you had acne for a few months as a teen, you got through that. Now the rest of your life is going to be smooth sailing. So what if there are a few extra hairs in your comb or caught in the drain after you finish your shower. This is nothing to worry about. Except the sad reality is that anyone, no matter what their age or gender, can lose their hair. It can be heredity, caused by some underlying medical condition, a side effect of a drug you are taking. The list goes on. Unless you are taking preventative measures to reduce the risk of hair loss, you need guidance on when to seek a formal diagnosis. Too early and you wasted your money because your doctor could find nothing wrong. Too late and there’s little chance of any treatment helping the hair to regrow. For the record, male pattern baldness can begin during your teens and this is permanent hair loss. Why permanent? Because the growth cycle shortens and every time you shed your hair, it grows back thinner and more likely to fall out. As this speeds up, your hair stops regrowing and there’s no cure.

This is what to think about. At some point, you will notice more hair than usual is falling out. Make a note of the date. If possible, get someone in the family or a friend to take pictures of your head so you can monitor any changes to the shape of the hair. Then watch what happens. Is the loss only occasional or is it continuous? If you have good days and bad days, think about what you eat and what you did. Is there a cause and effect at work? In particular, look for anything that might make the loss worse. Now look around the family. If you are cut off from most of your relatives, ask if there is any history of hair loss on either side of the family.

This gives you enough information about the emerging physical pattern and the rate of loss to share with your doctor. There will be a physical examination of your scalp to judge the appearance of your hair, e.g. whether any hairs are broken off. There is usually a pull test to see how many come out, and skin samples taken to eliminate the possibility of an infection. There will also be a review of your medical history and general wellness to identify any underlying problems such as thyroid disease that may be causing the loss. If this is simple male pattern baldness, the standard treatment is generic propecia. This is taken once-daily and, over time, slows loss and encourages some regrowth. The benefits are lost and hair loss will resume if you stop taking propecia. Some commitment to continuing treatment is necessary. More generally, there are preventative measures in changing the way you handle your hair and modifying your diet. Your doctor or dermatologist will advise on how to minimize the effects of hair loss.

27 AprMeridia is a good helper to a healthy diet

You’re home from work and have the house to yourself. You’ve been very disciplined during the day. Just plenty of water to drink and a few biscuits. The scales show those pounds yielding to the diet. And then you find yourself opening the kitchen door. There’s a tub of icecream in the freezer that’s got your name on it. When that’s gone, there’s that piece of cheesecake and a peanut butter sandwich or two to round things off. By the time you’ve finished, the good work of the day has been undone with an intake of calories sufficient to keep a small army going for a week. But, and here comes the sad truth, you have to support being overweight with your lifestyle. If you have a little self-discipline, there’s no reason to carry all that extra weight around. It’s the boom and bust approach to dieting that does the most harm, with binge eating one of the most common of the eating disorders. Why do we do it?

Binge eating is evidence of emotional problems. It says something fundamental about how we see ourselves, how much we really care about our bodies. In these modern times, everyone knows how dangerous it is to be overweight, let alone obese. Every article like this everywhere on the web tells the same story of the risks of diabetes, cancers and heart disease. So to take the decision not to lose weight is making a statement about our lives. Put the other way round – if we cared about the risks, we would find the motivation to diet. Defeatism means giving up. We believe we are beaten. Sometimes, it’s like there’s no point in even trying even if we are literally shortening our lives.

Of course, there are therapies and treatments for all the eating disorders but, without coverage under a health plan, this is an expensive exercise. For most people, it comes down to self-help. So you need to untangle the cause and effect. Answer this simple question: what triggers a binge? If there’s a consistent reason for suddenly wanting to empty your fridge, this gives you a starting point. You might find it useful to keep a diary. It’s easier to see a pattern when you read back through a month or so of entries. Then you have to confront those situations and devise a way of getting through them without the need to eat. Recognize this desire for food has nothing to do with physical hunger. If that was the case, using a drug like meridia would be the answer, suppressing your appetite.

You have to break the habit of eating as a response to your emotions. Be your own therapist. Apply common sense and approach the exercise with an open mind. With honesty, you should overcome the problem. Of course, a sensible diet will help. Eating a good breakfast sets you up for the day. Avoid snacking and keep to regular times for lunch and an evening meal. If hunger does become a problem, you can buy meridia and it will see you through difficult times until your stomach gets used to smaller quantities of food. The aim should be to improve the general quality of your life. You will not become happy overnight, but at least aim for a more positive outlook.

12 AprHow to Find a Great Sales Job in the Recession

Finding a great sales job with the huge “cause and effect” process going on today is becoming very tough.

Buyers are not buying because they are worried about losing their job, losing their home, having their retirement fund reduced by a stock market crash and as a result, people that are worried about a possible coming disaster hold onto their money.

Companies are focusing hard on the bottom line to insure that they’re still viable when the recession ends. One of the things that is being watched carefully is the cost of sales.

The days of large expense account and credit card bills wining and dining prospects are pretty much over. Flying all over the country and running up hotel and rental car bills is being replaced by telephone conferencing and online video conferencing.

Another casualty of the recession has been the size of the sales force.

Companies are adopting something like the fast food industry has always used as a yardstick; labor cost as a percent of sales. As sales go down, people are sent home to keep the profit margin up. Many sales organizations are laying salespeople off for the same reason. If you have a large decrease in sales, you need less salespeople.

If you’re a downsized salesperson, you’re facing something not seen on decades; applying for sales jobs and not getting hired. The old days of growing sales by growing the sales force are over, and may never come back.

One strategy that can be successful in generating some very decent incomes is to downsize your thinking. In the old days, only the inexperienced and inept salespeople took commission-only jobs. If you were a sales producer, you expected a salary plus commission deal, performance bonuses, a company credit card and maybe even a company car.

Those jobs still exist, but now they are only for top producers.

There are two things you should look for in a commission-only sales position before you cross it off your list:

1.) Is it a decent commission? A 10% commission is far to little. a 20% to 25% commission is more realistic?

2.) Is it a one-time commission, or a recurring commission plan? If a one time commission and the commission percentage isn’t above 35%, you may be in a situation requiring you to make high volume sales just to survive. Unfortunately, it’s no longer you who decides whether to make high volume sales or not. It’s a buyers market everywhere, and there are not a lot of buyers in many, many markets.

On the other hand, if it’s a 20% to 25% commission with a recurring income component, take a closer look before rejecting it. There are two major reason to consider this type of commission plan:

1.) At the end of the year, you’ll make far more money with the same sales volume.

2.) If you have a bad month, it’s not the end of the world. Your residual commission still gets paid.

Remember, the commission-only sales market isn’t a welfare plan for unemployed salespeople. The company is still trying to sell and still relies on qualified salespeople to do the job.

If you’ve always wanted to be a salesperson, but have no experience, or you’re not a very productive salesperson, do yourself and the company a favor. Do not apply for the job. This is a strategy for the experienced salesperson only.
